Turf Delivered to Site When Your Job Is Ready for It
On a building or landscaping job, turf is usually one of the last things to go in, and it has to land at the right moment. Too early and it sits baking on a pallet while the final concrete cures. Too late and the crew stands around waiting. We plan every delivery around the stage your site has reached, not around a truck schedule that suits us.
Because we grow everything on our own paddocks at Windsor, we can cut to order and send turf out soon after harvest. Bigger jobs arrive on pallets, and we work with you on where the truck can safely park, where the pallets should sit and how far the rolls will need to travel to the laying area.
In short: Associated Turf is a Windsor turf farm that delivers fresh turf on pallets to homes, building sites and landscape projects across the Hawkesbury. Your price for most turf will be around $9 to $18 per square metre, shaped by variety, area, distance and laying. We usually reply to quote requests within one business day.

Your Local Turf Delivery Team in Mulgrave and Richmond
Mulgrave and Richmond keep our delivery trucks busy for different reasons. Mulgrave has a mix of commercial and industrial sites alongside homes, where turf often goes down around new buildings, car parks and street frontages that need to look finished for handover. Richmond has established older streets as well as newer housing, so one week we might be delivering to a tight town block and the next to a fresh estate where every lot is being turfed at once.
Whatever the site, the aim is the same: turf delivered to site in good condition, at a time the crew can lay it. We cut your order as close as possible to when it leaves the farm and send it on pallets for larger jobs, Monday to Saturday. Builders and landscapers can ask about trade pricing and staged harvests for multi-stage projects. Find out more about our turf supply and delivery service, or send us your site details for a delivery plan.
- Deliveries timed to your build stage
- Pallets placed where your crew can work
- Trade pricing and staged harvests available
What Your On-Site Turf Delivery Can Include
A smooth delivery depends on more than the turf itself. When you book with us, we cover the practical details that help your crew get started as soon as the truck pulls away. Here is what a site delivery from our farm can include.
- Fresh harvest: cut close to dispatch, never stockpiled
- Pallet delivery: larger orders arrive on pallets for easy handling
- Drop-point planning: agreed in advance around access and safety
- Delivery days: Monday to Saturday to suit your program
- Staged supply: harvests spread across multi-month builds
- Optional laying: our own team can lay it, including Maxi Turf rolls
Delivering Turf to Mulgrave Commercial and Mixed-Use Sites
Commercial sites around Mulgrave bring a set of delivery challenges that a typical backyard does not. Access can be limited by other trades working on site, with scaffolding, skip bins and parked utes taking up space near the building. Turf often has to go down in narrow strips beside car parks, footpaths and garden beds, which means pallets need to be positioned close to several small laying areas rather than one big one.
Timing is the second issue. Commercial jobs frequently have fixed handover dates, and the landscaping is among the final tasks. If the turf arrives before the hardscape is finished, it can sit in the sun or get run over by machinery.
The low-lying ground around Mulgrave can also stay soft after heavy rain, making it hard for trucks to reach the laying area. We talk through these details before your turf is cut, agree on a drop point that suits the site manager, and adjust the harvest date if conditions change.
- Drop points agreed with your site manager
- Timing locked to your handover program
- Rebooking if wet ground blocks truck access
What Does It Cost to Have Turf Delivered to Site Near Richmond?
Pricing for site deliveries follows the same farm-direct guide as every other order. Most farm-direct turf runs about $9 to $18 per square metre, from Kikuyu and couch at the cheaper end up to soft leaf buffalo at the top. Bigger orders usually attract a lower rate per square metre, and delivery is priced on distance from Windsor. Installation is quoted on top, based on area, preparation and site access.
For a quote that suits your project, contact our team with your site details.
- Variety: buffalo is priced above Kikuyu and couch
- Volume: larger areas lower the rate per square metre
- Distance: delivery from our Windsor farm
- Access and prep: affect any laying quote
Planning for the Weight of Turf on Site
Fresh turf is heavy, and that has a real impact on site planning. Depending on moisture, it typically weighs around 15 to 25 kg per square metre. Even a modest backyard order adds up to a heavy pallet, far more than anyone can shift by hand, so it needs firm, level ground to sit on.
For large open areas, Maxi Turf rolls measure 1.2 metres wide by 12 metres long and are laid by machine. That means fewer joins and faster establishment on ovals, parks, schools and acreage. These rolls need easy machine access, so the site must allow equipment to move freely.
Once delivered, turf should be laid that day, especially in hot weather. The ground underneath should already be loosened, topped with underlay soil and levelled.
How We Handle Turf Delivered to Your Site
Every site delivery follows a clear plan, so your crew knows what is arriving, when it will turn up and where it will be placed.
- Site check. You share the address, area, access details and the stage your project has reached.
- Delivery plan. We confirm pricing, the harvest date and the agreed drop point.
- Fresh harvest. Your turf is cut to order at Windsor and loaded on pallets for dispatch.
- Drop and lay. The pallets are placed on site, ready for your crew or our own team to lay that day.
Turf Deliveries Across New Richmond Housing Estates
Newer housing estates around Richmond present a different set of problems. Construction machinery strips and compacts the topsoil, leaving a hard clay base that needs loosening and underlay before turf can go down. Driveways may not be poured yet, so trucks have to unload from the kerb and rolls are carried across uneven ground.
Streets in these estates are often busy with other trades, so parking a delivery truck can be difficult at certain times of day. On top of that, Richmond summers are hot, and turf left on a pallet in the afternoon sun starts to suffer quickly.
We help builders and homeowners avoid these problems by booking early-morning deliveries where possible and agreeing on a drop point in advance. Mention the build stage when you get turf delivered to site, and we will also advise on base preparation. For developers turfing many lots, staged harvests let each group of homes receive fresh turf as it reaches completion.
- Early drops to beat the afternoon heat
- Kerbside unloading planned for unfinished driveways
- Staged harvests for multiple estate lots

Frequently Asked Questions About Turf Delivered to Site in the Hawkesbury
Builders, landscapers and homeowners often ask us the same things before booking a site delivery. Here are the answers.
Our turf specialists are happy to help.
Can I get turf delivered to site on a building project?
Yes. We regularly have turf delivered to site for builders, developers and landscapers. Your order is cut fresh at our Windsor farm as close to dispatch as possible, arrives on pallets for larger jobs and is placed at a drop point agreed with you beforehand, Monday to Saturday.
Where will the pallets be placed?
We agree on a drop point before delivery day, based on truck access, ground conditions and how close it is to the laying area. Firm, level ground is best because loaded pallets are heavy. Tell us about gates, slopes or other trades on site so we can plan around them.
Does someone need to be on site for delivery?
It is best if someone is there to confirm the drop point and start laying, since turf should be laid on the day it arrives. If that is not possible, talk to us when you book and we will discuss what will work for your site.
Can turf delivered to site be staged for a large build?
Yes. For multi-month projects, we can stage harvests so turf delivered to site arrives as each section is ready. That way your crew always lays fresh turf, and you avoid pallets sitting on site while other trades finish.
What if my site is too wet on delivery day?
If heavy rain leaves your site or our paddocks too wet, we will talk to you about moving the delivery. Trucks can struggle on soft ground, and laying turf on waterlogged soil gives poor results, so a short delay usually leads to a better lawn.
Can your team lay the turf after it is delivered?
Yes. Our own team supplies and lays turf, and for large open areas we can lay Maxi Turf rolls by machine. Laying is quoted on top of supply, based on the area, site preparation and how easy the site is to access.
Can I collect turf for a small job instead?
Yes. For smaller jobs, farm pick-up is available Monday to Friday from 8am to 4.30pm and Saturday from 7am to 12pm. Make sure your vehicle or trailer can handle around 15 to 25 kg per square metre of fresh turf.
